Candidates must have a profound love for solving hard problems and overcoming challenging obstacles, and consistently put customers first to make them more productive, happy, and successful. Experience with AWS is required, with other public cloud providers being a bonus. Proficiency with PostgreSQL is a must, and additional experience with document databases is a nice-to-have. Experience with cloud security best practices such as CSPM, CDR, CWPP, SIEM, etc., is necessary to maintain customer and cloud posture security. Experience with containers, including builds, registries, vulnerability scanning, and runtime with docker-compose, TILT, and schedulers/orchestration systems, is essential. Multi-year hands-on experience and fluency with Kubernetes and helm charts are an absolute skill requirement.
The Site Reliability Engineer II will automate the provisioning of all infrastructure in code and partner with the Platform Engineering team on building developer tooling and improving developer experiences. They will also partner with the Data Engineering team on improving data posture and driving operational excellence, and evolve deployment pipelines to automate infrastructure deployments with reliable technologies. Responsibilities include improving metrics on main services, acting as a subject matter expert for global dev teams, enabling observability, SLO/SLI reporting, and responding to business-impacting incidents related to infrastructure. The role involves adopting and driving solutions aligned with AWS Well Architected frameworks and business objectives, identifying performance bottlenecks, and proactively solving problems. Additionally, the engineer will help build, deploy, and scale a load testing environment, enforce security and operational safety controls, participate in technical roadmap planning and estimation, and contribute to production readiness and architecture review board meetings. Training and mentoring future engineers in the same region and contributing to architectural improvements for future scaling and observability requirements are also key duties.
