Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Employment Type: Full-time Location Type: Hybrid

Position Overview

Grammarly is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our infrastructure team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability of our back-end systems, collaborating with development engineers, and planning for future growth. You will be instrumental in transitioning away from a "you build it, you own it" model, working alongside existing production engineering teams in the EU. At Grammarly, engineers have the autonomy to innovate and influence our product roadmap, tackling increasingly complex technical challenges as we scale.

Responsibilities

As an SRE, you will:

  • Scale our Kubernetes-based control plane, which processes billions of events daily.
  • Enhance our automation mechanisms to effectively respond to workload fluctuations.
  • Deploy Machine Learning (ML) systems across the company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as an SRE or DevOps engineer.
  • Proven experience participating in incident management processes.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and Terraform.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Java and Kubernetes skills are preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated embodiment of Grammarly's EAGER values: ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Alignment with Grammarly's MOVE principles: move fast and learn faster; obsess about creating customer value; value impact over activity; and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
