Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in voice architecture or engineering roles
  • Extensive experience with Comcast Voice network architecture, protocols, and operational models
  • Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), PBX systems, and cloud voice platforms (e.g., Cisco Webex, AWS Connect)
  • In-depth knowledge of voice industry regulations including STIR/SHAKEN, CALEA, CPNI, and FCC compliance
  • Experience with network infrastructure and QoS for voice traffic
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in voice (e.g., speech analytics, conversational AI)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the implementation of advanced voice solutions including VoIP, SIP trunking, UCaaS, and cloud-based telephony
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the Comcast Voice network to optimize integration, performance, and reliability
  • Ensure voice systems comply with industry regulations (FCC, CPNI, CALEA, STIR/SHAKEN, etc.) and internal governance standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align voice architecture with business goals and enterprise infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best practices
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in the voice industry, including AI-driven voice services, 5G, and edge computing
  • Lead migration strategies from legacy platforms to modern, cloud-native voice environments
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and operations teams
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex voice-related issues across platforms
