Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience in server infrastructure is required, with at least 3 years in an architecture or design role. Experience with colocation, hyperscale, or enterprise-class data center providers is necessary. Deep understanding of network hardware, designs, and cabling, expertise in server hardware components, configurations, and storage systems, and in-depth knowledge of data center facility equipment, operations, and design standards including power, cooling, cabling, monitoring, and operations are essential. Working knowledge of specific technologies is also required.
The Data Center Infrastructure Architect will design and implement enterprise-grade server and network infrastructure across data center facilities, focusing on the physical layer to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Responsibilities include architecting and designing physical infrastructure for data center scale deployments, working with teams and vendors to define hardware deployment strategies, creating and evaluating hardware BOMs, and producing comprehensive technical documentation. The role also involves overseeing installation and implementation by partnering with facilities, vendors, and contractors, validating installations against design specifications, and troubleshooting hardware or connectivity issues. Additionally, the architect will manage physical infrastructure aspects of projects in conjunction with project management teams and stakeholders, and assist in training other technical teams on physical infrastructure.
