Requirements

Active ISA Arborist certification
Educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related disciplines
Experience in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields
Reside within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA
Capable of utilizing computers and running reports/updating data in PG&E’s VMDSRs
Proficient with software applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

Perform inspections, audits, and monitor contractor performance
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews
Serve as liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers
Resolve obstacles to ensure work completion in a safe, cost-effective, efficient, timely, and productive manner, including managing time and expenses
Manage day-to-day activities to keep personnel focused, verify scope achievement, equipment use, and documentation
Act as VM contact for new business and re-construction work
Approve scheduling and scope changes in the field with PG&E representative approval
Promote safety culture, perform/document Safety Observations and Good Catches, ensure compliance with safety rules
Audit work performed by VMIs for compliance
Assist with training and onboarding of VM Inspectors
Support PGE Work Verification team for timely addressing of observations
Maintain working relationships with public agencies (e.g., Caltrans, CalFire, USFS, BLM) and PG&E’s tree contractors
Patrol distribution or transmission circuits and prescribe tree pruning/tree/brush removal work
Assess trees for failure likelihood/hazards and determine next trim requirements
Identify and prescribe work for electric compliance tags (e.g., 540 tags) per regulatory/PG&E standards
Ensure work complies with PG&E Vegetation Management Standards/Procedures, permits, and jurisdictional requirements
Perform Quality Check audits on VMIs for field compliance and data integrity
Assist in outage investigations
Assist in local Divisional Operations as directed
