Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, international business, or Supply Chain Management, with 5-7 years of experience in trade compliance or customs, focusing on US regulations. A proven ability to interpret engineering documents and manufacturing processes for trade compliance, strong knowledge of country-of-origin determination regulations and HTSUS classification, and in-depth understanding of international trade laws are essential. Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are required, along with proficiency in trade compliance software. A professional certification in trade compliance and experience in a multinational corporation or consulting firm are considered a plus.
The Senior Trade Compliance Specialist will ensure adherence to international trade laws and customs regulations, including US Trade Remedies/Tariffs. They will review engineering drawings and product specifications to determine country of origin, prepare technical documentation for compliance files and audits, and advise product development teams on the trade compliance impact of changes. This role involves collaborating with legal and compliance teams on CBP inquiries and audits, structuring manufacturing or sourcing strategies for duty minimization, and conducting regular compliance audits. The specialist will also support other departmental compliance activities.
