Senior Staff DevOps Engineer - Identity Security Cloud

Position Overview

Identity Security Cloud is SailPoint’s Identity as a Service (IDaaS) product. The Senior Staff DevOps Engineer will be a key leader on the Infrastructure Platform Team, servicing the product suite and supporting functionality. This role involves proactively working with Engineering, Product, Services, and other functional departments to design, improve, and implement our global customer-facing SaaS infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment, values excellence and quality, and is committed to delivering seamless product availability to large enterprises worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new architecture patterns using Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Develop and document cutting-edge techniques and concepts with team members.
  • Design, build, and maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient SaaS application platform to meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, management, and incident response.
  • Monitor site stability and performance and troubleshoot site issues.
  • Design and scale infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand.
  • Manage cross-functional requirements, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Services, and other departments.
  • Collaborate with developers to bring new features and services into production.
  • Develop and improve operational practices and procedures.
  • Proactively meet standards for information security and compliance (e.g., ISO, SOX, SSAE 16).

Background & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations, supporting a highly available environment for a SaaS or cloud service provider.
  • 10+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure environments, preferably AWS.
  • 10+ years of experience with containerization, virtualization, and configuration management technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
  • 5+ years of experience with Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), managing infrastructure across multiple accounts and regions in AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience with designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, especially for Terraform and Kubernetes.
  • 10+ years of experience using scripting languages (e.g., Ruby, Python) and strong proficiency with shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, with the ability to set and enforce processes and influence engineers who are not direct reports.
  • Ability to operate in an agile, entrepreneurial start-up environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum concepts and practices.

Education (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range (US-based employees): $134,600 - $192,300 - $250,000 (USD)
    • Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
  • Bonus/Equity: This role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation.
