Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience is required, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role focused on platform or infrastructure development. Proven experience designing, deploying, and scaling SaaS and PaaS solutions in regulated environments, familiarity with cloud-native platforms (ideally in healthcare or regulated industries), and experience in the diagnostics space are essential. Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, TypeScript, modern UI/service frameworks, DaaS models, secure multi-tenant architecture, CI/CD pipelines, HL7, FHIR, healthcare-grade security standards (OAuth2, SSO, IAM), containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Docker) are also required. Demonstrated ability to manage and grow engineering teams and strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams are necessary.
The Senior Manager, Platform Engineering will lead the development of a next-generation transplant diagnostics platform, integrating lab workflows, clinical systems, analytics, and partner services. Key responsibilities include leading the design and architecture of the platform for SaaS, PaaS, and DaaS delivery, managing platform engineering activities such as cloud architecture, data flow, security, scalability, and modular development, and collaborating with the applications development team for solution deployment. The role involves partnering with the data interoperability team to build the FHIR and HL7 backbone for EHR and clinical data integration, leading and mentoring an engineering team to deliver reusable platform services, and ensuring platform compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, CLIA, IVDR, FDA, and GLP. Additionally, the position requires working cross-functionally with product management, R&D, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to align platform capabilities with business objectives, and contributing to platform roadmaps and improvement efforts.
