Requirements

5+ years of design/development experience
1+ years of hands-on cloud implementation experience
Technical subject matter expertise and domain knowledge
Hands-on understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) to deliver large-scale distributed solutions across the full enterprise stack
Hands-on technical skills in application, data, integration, and security architecture/design
Hands-on understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, etc.) and microservices-based architecture
Experience working with technologies that act as glue between modern applications and legacy infrastructure leveraging streaming platforms like Kafka
Ability to collaborate with Aetna Tech, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, and Security to deliver solutions
Experience in enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile) including DevSecOps and DataOps
Hands-on technologist with coding skills and proficiency in modern technology stack
Soft skills: Thought leadership and mentoring, excellent communication, deep collaboration skills, ability to work as a team player seeking alignment and influencing outcomes through hands-on demonstration of cloud capabilities

Responsibilities

Develop architectures that represent business, applications/integration, data, infrastructure, platform, and security architectures for key strategic initiatives
Drive end-to-end solution architecture from cradle to grave for enterprise-grade systems
Perform Buy vs Build analysis based on qualitative and quantitative factors to provide recommendations
Contribute to architecture and design reviews within the Architecture community to drive modernization opportunities
Act as a trusted advisor to application, security, and platform teams, driving alignment on strategies and patterns
Leverage technical expertise and domain knowledge to identify apps targeted for refactor and optimization for cloud
Contribute to proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives specific to partner technologies
Adopt a “whatever it takes” attitude to help clear technical roadblocks, advising and assisting application development teams (e.g., performance challenges)
Engage with stakeholders to recommend or assess opportunities for cost optimization, simplicity, configurability, and elimination of technical debt
Manage tech debt within a given portfolio and develop solution proposals to reduce it
Partner within Data, Digital, Analytics, and Technology teams
