Requirements

  • Office presence minimum 5 days per week at customer's site in Washington, D.C. (no relocation offered)
  • Expertise in performing independent Security Control Assessments (SCA) for networks including Unclassified, Secret, & TS/SCI
  • Proficiency in reviewing security system documentation, system security plans, POA&M, and Contingency Plans
  • Experience utilizing automated scanning tools and ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) for National Security Systems
  • Knowledge of General Support Systems (GSS), major applications, minor applications, cross-domain solutions, and cloud instances
  • Ability to articulate inherent risks beyond mere compliance focus
  • Familiarity with XACTA or other viable methods
  • Experience with on-going compliance and vulnerability scanning
  • Capability to generate and articulate presentable findings for all management levels, including Senior Government Officials
  • Understanding of Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) and Standards (ICS), DOD, DOS compliance, CNSSI Instruction 1254, NIST policies, and Department of State guidelines
  • Ability to operate in environments supporting federal government agencies and intelligence communities

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current systems while assessing areas for immediate, short-term, and long-term improvements
  • Perform on-going/constant compliance and vulnerability scanning
  • Generate and articulate presentable findings for all levels of management, including Senior Government Officials and stakeholders
  • Maintain staffing strategy and approach, providing appropriately cleared IT security professionals for SCA functions
  • Manage and maintain all systems to comply with ICDs, ICS, DOD, and DOS standards
  • Create, maintain, and provide a project plan for repeatable processes in assessing systems and delivering standardized documentation
  • Make professional recommendations to improve systems, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Make recommendations to enhance the security posture of Department systems
  • Ensure security is incorporated into requirements, design, implementation, deployment, and operations & maintenance (O&M) of agency boundaries and information systems
  • Provide kick-off meetings using PowerPoint, create timelines, define actions, and make assignments
  • Validate security controls to assure compliance
  • Serve as security knowledge expert (role truncated in description)
