Requirements

  • Five years related work experience
  • Three years of sales experience required
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Progress towards MBA, CFA, CIM preferred
  • Requires regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC)

Responsibilities

  • Achieves established sales and retention goals within the spirit of Vanguard's Code of Ethics
  • Implements a strategic sales plan to efficiently identify quality new business relationships and leverage Vanguard capabilities for maximum success
  • Drives sales results by raising awareness of Vanguard's investments, products, and related services through targeted prospecting activities including cold-calling, direct mail campaigns, face-to-face meetings, client seminars, and attendance at national and regional industry conferences
  • Generates new relationships and broadens existing relationships in the Registered Investment Advisors channel using a combination of electronic (75%) and in-person (25%) communication
  • Seeks and understands the philosophy, preferences, and dynamics of the intermediary and their client base; acts as a trusted advisor/consultant in matching client needs with Vanguard products and services; educates clients on Vanguard product offerings
  • Demonstrates a high level of expertise of capital markets, the investment management industry, and marketplace developments to position Vanguard products and services effectively
  • Hosts in-person meetings and presents Vanguard products at client seminars, educational opportunities, and other events to build credibility, establish relationships, and generate sales ideas
  • Leverages virtual technology to create personal experiences and reach clients/prospects in metro and non-metro locations
  • Partners with and supports field sales and key account sales executives as needed
  • Manages time spent on opportunities, determines contact methods (in-person or virtual), and tracks key drivers of business
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
