Senior Regional Sales Director

Position Overview

Virtus Investment Partners is seeking a Senior Regional Sales Director to represent its comprehensive investment offerings, including mutual funds, SMAs, and ETFs, to investment professionals and intermediaries across various channels (Independents, RIA, and Wirehouse). This role involves building and nurturing relationships with advisors by providing technical product information, demonstrating expertise in the competitive landscape, financial markets, and industry trends, and acting as a consultant on practice management and portfolio construction.

  • Starting Salary: $100,000
  • The final salary offer will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Virtus, showcasing in-depth knowledge of mutual funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts.
  • Articulate underlying investment strategies, rationale for product positioning, drivers of performance, and relevant market background.
  • Develop new relationships and maintain/evolve existing relationships with financial advisors.
  • Lead sales initiatives within a defined territory.
  • Identify client needs and coordinate efforts to support assigned intermediaries.
  • Conduct sales and product training meetings for assigned territories.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ten or more years of experience in sales, with strong product knowledge and established relationships within the assigned territory and channel.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and energetic with strong project management and selling skills.
  • Ability to drive objectives with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Required Licenses: Series 7 and Series 63 or 66.
  • Travel: Approximately 90% of the time will be spent traveling in the field.
