The Senior Quality Control Engineer will ensure that products are designed, built, and produced in accordance with customer specifications and quality requirements. This position typically reports to the QA Lead. Candidates who enjoy problem-solving and collaborative work environments are well-suited for this role.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or information technology, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Experience: 4-5 years of experience in testing.
  • Professional Certification (Preferred): Professional certification, such as ISTQB-CTFL or ISTQB-CTAL.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills are essential for testing, bug identification, and error resolution.
  • Automation Experience: Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium Web Driver. Experience developing automation scripts.
  • Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with testing phases and approaches, including functional and regression testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Tests: Conduct a variety of tests, including smoke, regression, integration, and performance testing (cross-browser, cross-platform, and responsive testing – PC, mobile, and tablet), API testing, and any needed tests as per the test plan to confirm software stability.
  • Report Bugs: Report clear bugs and track them using tools like DevOps.
  • Perform Automation: Generate automation scripts. Research and utilize tools with the goal of increasing automation.
  • Work with Team Members: Collaborate with QC, development, and business groups to complete testing.
  • Design Test Cases: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases, and review test cases written by junior or mid-level team members.
  • Send Test Results: Send test results reports, after confirming them with the QA Lead.
  • Documentation: Build project documentation such as user manuals.
  • Participate in Full Lifecycle Development: Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform Business Requirements Review & Verification: Review and verify business requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Static Testing: Conduct static testing.
  • UAT (User Acceptance Testing): Perform UAT.
  • Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing.
  • Mentorship & Training: Mentor and train junior quality control engineers on policies and procedures, and create tasks for them.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identifies the root cause of quality problems and coordinates corrective actions.
  • Architecting Test Strategies: Develop new automated test strategies and frameworks, and create, implement, and automate testing to support software test requirements.
  • Assist Development: Assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.
  • Demonstrate Innovation & Leadership: Demonstrate innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills.
  • Assist with Evaluations: May assist with performance evaluations.
