At least 10 years of estimating and/or cost control experience, with preference for capability and experience in completing higher complexity and higher professional requirements
At least 4 years of estimating experience in theme park similar facilities, show elements, and ride construction
Ability to successfully resolve conflicts
Demonstrated decision-making and relationship-building abilities
Confident speaker, able to adapt to audiences and conduct effective written and oral communication
Fluent in English and Mandarin
Knowledge specific to theme parks, hotels, or themed entertainment industry
Bachelor's degree or above, preference for quantity surveying, cost management, or equivalent technical training and/or related experience
Responsibilities
Perform take-offs and estimating for all portions of complex, highly integrated projects including theme park attractions, hotels, and other Disney experience expansions (sitework, infrastructure, area development, facilities, interiors, themed finishes, show elements, and rides) throughout the project lifecycle, even with incomplete or ambiguous information and minimal direct supervision
Guide, mentor, and develop other Project Estimators
Provide cost management throughout the project lifecycle, quantifying risks, developing mitigation plans, and forecasting total project Estimated Final Cost (EFC) with project team and divisions
Oversee development of total project EFC estimate for capital authorization
Coordinate discrete estimates/bids based on scope/design documentation and implementation plans from divisions, construction manager, outside vendors, and/or services; ensure completeness of estimates with project team
Evaluate design documentation and provide trend estimates and analyses against current EFC/budget during design phase
Interface with operators, designers, and contractors to provide estimating, cost data, analysis, and scenario planning
Test estimates for reasonableness using comparable/equivalent historical experience
Provide design staff and project team with cost guidance, value engineering, and alternatives
During tendering, work with cost consultancy on public or other tendering: review/estimate specifications, drawings, supporting documents for scope, estimate contents, pricing documents, tender return analysis, and award
During post-contract, work with cost consultancy on interim payments, changes/claims management (estimating, negotiating, settlement)
Adapt complex financial and estimating data to various audience levels with dynamic project EFC reporting
Work with team leadership or assist executive leadership on project strategies, risk mitigations, recovery/acceleration plans
Review and incorporate historical cost data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., into estimates
Provide estimating to confirm capital budgets during development, manage tendering (incl. pricing documents), and handle cost control, change management, risk assessment during execution to final account and closeout
