Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 9 years of experience in programming/scripting in a professional environment, preferably for an internal IT department, MSP, or software company. They require experience working as part of an agile software team and familiarity with all stages of the SDLC. Experience leading technical teams and owning engineering initiatives is also necessary. A Bachelor’s degree and 8-9+ years of relevant experience are required. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting, Bash scripting, Windows/Mac Administration, cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, GWS etc), and working with RESTful APIs is essential. Experience with Git repositories and Python or other object-oriented languages is desired.

Responsibilities

The Senior Professional Services Software Engineer will meet with and build solutions for customers, collaborating with the Customer Tools team on projects and solutions to improve customer quality of life. They will leverage Jira to track work, liaise with internal stakeholders and other engineering teams, and interact directly with customers on projects, providing scope of work, building documentation, and supporting implementation. The role involves identifying trends, reviewing data, and making informed decisions regarding tooling improvements, communicating regularly with internal JumpCloud departments, leading stand ups, planning/review meetings, and post-mortems. They will represent the Customer Tools team in strategic meetings, own and design complex tools and solutions, lead the prioritization of work for each sprint, provide regular feedback and opportunities for growth to less experienced team members, actively seek opportunities to improve other team members, and contribute to key initiatives.
