3+ years working experience on AWD (transfer case preferred), transmission or automotive driveline components design (experience from Magna, GKN, ZF preferred)
Master of UG, AutoCad (experience with Catia and TeamCenter preferred)
NVH background preferred
Quality tool skills preferred
Experience and/or training in the development and maintenance of DFMEAs
Experience and/or training in APQP
Experience and/or training in DFM/DFA
Process knowledge in manufacturing and assembly
Ability to use common software like Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements

Responsibilities
Lead an engineering team in the product development process of transfer case (or related product) mechanical hardware for customer 4WD applications
Develop initial proposal based on known customer requirements
Lead and conduct engineering activities from new business opportunity through production launch, including analyzing customer requirements for performance, packaging, serviceability, and resolving open issues
Develop proposals for mechanical hardware and support estimation process for new business opportunities
Perform mechanical hardware system level design
Provide direction for or issue CAE/NVH requests for analysis of assemblies and components
Lead a team in the creation and maintenance of mechanical hardware assembly/system level DFMEAs
Develop and monitor ADVP&Rs
Issue lab work orders providing direction for builds, tests, component modifications, and inspection
Conduct and lead meetings including design kick-off, open issues, design release, prototype build, root cause, and others as necessary
Develop engineering specifications for the product
Create prototype build/control plans, review and approve prototype material for builds, and sign off mechanical hardware prototypes for usage in internal and external testing
Support ECU, software, and calibration engineers to ensure integration of mechanical and electrical systems
Support validation engineers in preparing fixtures and completing testing requirements
Support sales with engineering data for estimates (including cost reduction opportunities) and technical data for customer interaction
Support production facility in DFM/DFA activities and as a technical resource throughout product life cycle
Support global supply chain as a technical resource for sourcing decisions and technical discussions
Support quality engineer to resolve production issues
Involved in engineering budget for programs
Lead or support engineering change management process for supported products as required
