Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role demonstrating a passion for technology and a strong sense of responsibility for high reliability and service level management. They must be proficient in Kubernetes and containerization technologies such as Docker, and have extensive experience with observability tools including GrafanaLab, CaptainHook, Zabbix, Fluentd, ELK, Kafka, and Prometheus. Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation is required, as well as experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and strong programming skills in languages like Bash, Python, or Go. Experience with OpenTelemetry Collector and Grafana Agent is preferred.
The Senior Observability/Logging Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and management of the observability infrastructure, processing trillions of observability events daily. They will create and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems utilizing various technologies, including GrafanaLab, CaptainHook, Zabbix, fluentd, filebeat, ELK, Kafka, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry. The role involves designing and developing parts of a highly scalable software observability platform, developing and maintaining Kubernetes Helm charts, collaborating with DevOps teams to deliver cloud solutions, ensuring high availability and performance of observability platforms, and designing and developing end-to-end Synthetic Tests Monitoring solutions on GCP with self-service capabilities for engineering teams. Additionally, the engineer will participate in on-call rotations.
