LaunchDarkly is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join the Release Monitoring team and contribute to a new product line. You will be part of the Release Observability pillar, dedicated to making software releases safer, faster, and more reliable. The team's mission is to transform software release processes by automating them, measuring the real-time impact of feature rollouts, and simplifying debugging. This involves everything from automated release pipelines to metrics monitoring, error tracking, and automated rollbacks, ensuring every code change is measured and the entire release process is managed efficiently and reliably. As a member of the Release Monitoring team, you will leverage LaunchDarkly’s Observability SDKs to measure user impact and inform release decisions. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product, design, data science, engineering) to architect and advance observability products. Facilitate strategic discussions to align technical solutions with business goals, ensuring scalable and effective feature delivery.
  • Drive end-to-end feature development from proof of concept to delivery, ensuring robust observability into system behavior and customer usage patterns post-launch.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for product and user experience improvements, leveraging data insights and feedback to propose and lead the implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to teammates, guiding them through complex challenges and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Lead and contribute to code reviews, spec reviews, and architecture design, ensuring alignment with best practices, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Advance engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the technology organization by identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative processes.
  • Stay current with frontend development trends, experimentation, and data-driven product evolution, suggesting and implementing forward-thinking improvements in tools, processes, and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on frontend development, or equivalent demonstrable skills and experience.
  • Proficiency with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling, such as React.
  • Experience building data-focused products such as experimentation platforms, analytics dashboards, or large-scale data visualizations.
