Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10 years of demonstrated experience in software engineering and previous management experience
  • Experience collaborating across time zones, work styles, and different cultures
  • Ability to use AI-supported coding tools, AI-first mentality, and ability to work on the forefront of industry transformation
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ability to mix gathering data with prototyping to build understanding and confirm direction
  • Track record of developing, leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineers, creating an environment that promotes positivity and growth while supporting professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across all collaborators, drive consensus or disagreement and commitment, move execution forward despite obstacles, and own the outcome
  • Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, specifically algorithms and data structures, with technical expertise

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers from start to finish in developing the Brand Concierge agentic application, including research, design, implementation, quality assurance, production deployment, and operation
  • Work closely with product management and clients to define and refine the product roadmap, user experience, priorities, and schedule
  • Collaborate actively with upstream and downstream teams (e.g., machine learning, language processing, administration, and analytical systems) to successfully deliver the application
  • Take ownership of the development life cycle, closely supervising progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and unblocking challenges
  • Celebrate the team’s success and coach improvements and increased efficiency
  • Play a pivotal role in attracting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining exceptional engineers through mentorship, growing them professionally and personally
  • Foster a culture that values teamwork, celebration, and improvement to contribute to a positive and productive work environment
  • Drive the team using multiple languages in a zero-to-one product cycle (developing the initial version of software)
  • Contribute to the architecture and high-level structure of applications, ensuring mindfulness of latency, scalability, fault tolerance, and quality at the largest enterprise scales
