A minimum of 10 years of production-level engineering experience, including 5 years in a managerial role leading technical engineering teams, is required. Preferred qualifications include experience attracting, hiring, and coaching engineers, taking ownership of technology decisions while delegating, and strong communication skills for influencing stakeholders. Domain-specific requirements include 7+ years of experience in machine learning technologies, particularly Python, proficiency in designing scalable AI/ML platform architectures, distributed systems, microservices, containerization, model training infrastructure, orchestration tools, and MLOps principles. Experience in translating business objectives into technological roadmaps, familiarity with current AI/ML research trends, proven mentorship of AI/ML talent, collaborative leadership, data-driven decision-making, business acumen, and startup experience are also preferred.
The Senior Engineering Manager will lead by example as a highly technical leader, delivering high business impact on AI/ML projects with increasing dependencies and ambiguity. They will lead a team of senior ML Engineers in developing technology to improve patient health outcomes. Key duties include building a high-performing team through hiring and nurturing talent, providing strong technical leadership to drive solutioning and build roadmaps, setting clear goals, removing roadblocks for the team, and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the company to achieve business outcomes. The role also involves working closely with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence in processes and systems, crafting and executing a strategic vision for an AI/ML-focused team, aligning development efforts with strategic goals, translating business objectives into technological roadmaps, and communicating plans effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities also include mentoring AI/ML talent, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, leveraging data-driven insights for planning, and prioritizing AI/ML platform features that meet business needs while ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
