Requirements

Minimum of 13 years of professional experience, including 7 years in data management, analytics, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or related field (preferred)
Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data integration best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Japanese: primary fluency/bilingual proficiency; English: full professional proficiency
Proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Power BI
Proven leadership skills to bring functions together to define and resolve problems
Strong documentation skills to articulate as-is and to-be processes
Perseverance and resilience to navigate challenges and drive projects to completion
Experience and passion for building data management and analytics foundations, including governance and process improvements
Expertise in advanced analytics capabilities to support business growth and decision-making
Experience with hosting internal training/certification programs for BI reports

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the Japan data analytics strategy in alignment with global and regional stakeholders
Establish and oversee governance processes for master data and enterprise reporting
Build and lead a high-performing Data & Analytics team to identify, define, and resolve business problems through data-driven insights
Implement and operationalize the governance process for self-service reporting
Foster a data-driven culture through user community building, training/certification program creation & execution, and best practice sharing
Provide business insights to aid decision-making with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain
Clean up and maintain visibility with data and reports (e.g., data/report catalog)
Operationalize business-critical report ownership for the Data & Analytics team, while fostering self-service where required
Document and articulate as-is and to-be Data & Analytics processes for clarity and alignment
Create data analytics processes and governance to operationalize enterprise report creation and self-service reporting, designed for sustainability
Ensure all processes are well-documented and effectively communicated to stakeholders
Establish a strong data management and analytics foundation, including data governance, data quality, and data integration
Implement best practices for data management and analytics to ensure data integrity and reliability
Develop advanced analytics capabilities to enable deeper data-driven decision-making
