Requirements

  • Minimum of 13 years of professional experience, including 7 years in data management, analytics, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data integration best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Japanese: primary fluency/bilingual proficiency; English: full professional proficiency
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Power BI
  • Proven leadership skills to bring functions together to define and resolve problems
  • Strong documentation skills to articulate as-is and to-be processes
  • Perseverance and resilience to navigate challenges and drive projects to completion
  • Experience and passion for building data management and analytics foundations, including governance and process improvements
  • Expertise in advanced analytics capabilities to support business growth and decision-making
  • Experience with hosting internal training/certification programs for BI reports

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Japan data analytics strategy in alignment with global and regional stakeholders
  • Establish and oversee governance processes for master data and enterprise reporting
  • Build and lead a high-performing Data & Analytics team to identify, define, and resolve business problems through data-driven insights
  • Implement and operationalize the governance process for self-service reporting
  • Foster a data-driven culture through user community building, training/certification program creation & execution, and best practice sharing
  • Provide business insights to aid decision-making with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain
  • Clean up and maintain visibility with data and reports (e.g., data/report catalog)
  • Operationalize business-critical report ownership for the Data & Analytics team, while fostering self-service where required
  • Document and articulate as-is and to-be Data & Analytics processes for clarity and alignment
  • Create data analytics processes and governance to operationalize enterprise report creation and self-service reporting, designed for sustainability
  • Ensure all processes are well-documented and effectively communicated to stakeholders
  • Establish a strong data management and analytics foundation, including data governance, data quality, and data integration
  • Implement best practices for data management and analytics to ensure data integrity and reliability
  • Develop advanced analytics capabilities to enable deeper data-driven decision-making
