Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience. They must have proven experience as a Live Site Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or in a similar role, along with strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking concepts, and web technologies. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash, experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Nagios, Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes are also required.
The Senior Live Site Engineer will monitor the live production environment to proactively identify potential issues or anomalies, respond promptly to system alerts and incidents, collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex problems, serve as the central point of contact for incidents and provide regular updates to stakeholders, prepare and deliver incident reports to customers, develop and maintain automation scripts and monitoring dashboards to improve efficiency, implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms, and participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for production systems, responding to and resolving critical incidents during on-call shifts.
