Candidates should possess 8+ years of relevant experience in SRE, DevOps, or Database Administration roles, along with deep expertise in scaling and administering PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora in production environments. Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js development is required, as well as experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable database solutions. Familiarity with Terraform and Terragrunt, Prisma, and containerization technologies is desirable.
The Senior SRE, Database will optimize and scale the database infrastructure, focusing initially on PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora, implement database monitoring, performance tuning, and scaling solutions, develop database optimization strategies to improve overall system performance and reliability, create automated tooling for database management, and transition into broader SRE responsibilities as needed. They will also analyze the current database architecture, develop enhanced monitoring capabilities, and potentially work with data warehouses like RedShift.
