Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of experience with Go or a combination of Go/Angular and other languages, demonstrable experience writing or refactoring code to be scalable and performant, the ability to work independently on any task, proficiency with relational databases like MySQL, familiarity with containerization (Docker), a passion for writing simple, clean, and efficient code, an unwavering commitment to unit/functional/integration testing, and the ability to document and demonstrate solutions using flowcharts, diagrams, and whiteboarding. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Golang Software Engineer will write code that is clear, well-tested, optimized, and thoroughly documented, collaborate with other team members through pair programming and code reviews, maintain a high level of engagement with product management in agile meetings and processes, participate in benchmark and performance tuning efforts, learn and be a champion for industry standard best practices, and deliver commitments on time that meet product and engineering requirements. The role also includes completing onboarding, setting up the development environment, resolving tickets and bugs, contributing to tech debt reduction, taking on story points, ensuring all work has tests, completing NERM-specific courses, maintaining availability during core business hours, and effectively communicating issues ahead of time.
