Position Overview

Coder is seeking a Senior Software Engineer passionate about shaping the future of developer tooling powered by AI. This role offers the opportunity to explore, design, and implement the next generation of AI-powered developer tools that seamlessly integrate into developers' workflows while maintaining enterprise-grade security.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and build AI-powered tools that leverage LLMs and AI agents to dramatically improve developer productivity.
• Help define best practices for running AI agents securely at scale in enterprise environments.
• Work with cutting-edge AI technologies to create seamless, painless developer experiences.
• Provide mentorship and guidance on contribution best practices to internal team members and external contributors.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams at Coder, as well as partners like JetBrains, to execute key product integrations.
• Rapidly iterate from prototype to implementation in a highly adaptive, reactive team environment.

Requirements

• Currently based in the United States or Canada.
• 4+ years of backend-focused experience writing code in a professional setting.
• Strong proficiency in building distributed systems in Go.
• Experience with or deep interest in LLMs, AI agents, and related technologies.
• Self-motivated with a creative and analytical mindset.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments where you can take ideas from concept to production quickly.

Bonus Points

• Experience building on top of or integrating with LLM APIs and AI models.
• Experience scaling a SaaS application from 0 users to thousands (and hopefully millions).
• A background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or IaC.
• Experience working in a blend of startups and larger organizations.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, model deployment, or MLOps.
