Description: We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with strong financial modeling and executive communication skills. You will manage forecasting and analysis for a wide range of our customers, supporting cross-functional sales teams to manage customer relationships and negotiate deals. You will dive deep into the details of customer performance to understand underlying drivers to results, and will be able to translate these findings into decks and communications to help executive leadership understand the health of the business. The Impact You’ll Have

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide executive leadership with relevant insights on performance of customers within your scope.
  • Build models to forecast the performance of your customers, from topline drivers through to gross profit, including deal modeling and negotiations on existing and new customer programs.
  • Communicate monthly results of customer performance to sales teams to ensure they are best prepared to manage customer relationships, including building and presenting decks and providing and assisting with support files.
  • Assist cross-functional teams on building customer-facing review presentations that help customers best understand the value of their relationship with Marqeta.
  • Stay abreast with the latest trends in the payments industry, and how regulatory or industry changes or trends may impact Marqeta’s business and customers.
  • Continuously refine and optimize processes to ensure the efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, including leveraging SQL to deepen your reach into complex data.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, with a deep focus on customer forecasting and deal modeling.
  • Financial Knowledge: Solid grasp of financial principles and their application in a dynamic business environment, including GAAP accounting practices.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in SQL and especially Snowflake is very helpful.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with proven expertise in crafting and presenting financial decks to a diverse audience, including senior leadership.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset, coupled with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, readily adapting to evolving business requirements.
