Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or Risk Management/Insurance or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years of health and welfare compliance experience from a brokerage, consulting, or law firm. A Paralegal or CEBS Certification with ERISA/Employee Benefits experience, or a JD with ERISA/Employee Benefits experience, is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products is required, and a Producer Life, Accident & Health License is preferred. A thorough understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment for health and welfare plan benefits, outstanding oral and written communication skills with platform presentation ability, the capacity to multitask and meet deadlines, and the ability to simplify complex material for end-users are essential qualifications.

Responsibilities

The Senior Employee Benefits Compliance Consultant will serve as a subject-matter expert for clients on health and welfare plan regulatory compliance, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRC Sections 125, 129, and 105(h). Responsibilities include providing advice on plan design, implementation, and administration, conducting compliance assessments, drafting regulatory documents and amendments, guiding Form 5500 preparation and submissions, conducting HIPAA training, and answering client and internal questions. The role also involves participating in prospective client meetings, drafting e-Alerts, articles, and other communications on regulatory changes, and keeping informed of relevant regulatory updates.
