Dataiku is seeking a Sr Data Scientist to join their team. This role is unique as it involves not only coding solutions to real-world problems but also engaging in client-facing activities throughout the customer journey. This includes platform discovery, integration support, user training, and co-developing data science projects from design to deployment. The ideal candidate is proficient in Python and SQL, eager to learn new technologies and modeling techniques, and capable of explaining their work to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Curiosity and a desire to learn new topics and skills.
  • Empathy and eagerness to share knowledge with colleagues, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Over 5 years of experience with Python and SQL.
  • Over 5 years of experience building ML models and using ML tools (e.g., sklearn).
  • Experience with LLMs.
  • Experience with data visualization and building web apps with Python frameworks (Dash, Streamlit).
  • Understanding of underlying data systems such as Cloud architectures and SQL.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree focused on Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and co-develop production-level data science projects with customers across different industries and use cases.
  • Help users discover and master the Dataiku platform via user training, office hours, and ongoing consultative support.
  • Provide strategic input to customer and account teams to ensure customer success.
  • Offer data science expertise to customers and internally to Dataiku’s sales and marketing teams.
  • Lead technical data science projects, including pre-sales scoping and designing proposals.
  • Flag technical and non-technical account risks (onboarding issues, performance pitfalls, timeline slippage).
  • Develop custom Python-based “plugins” in collaboration with Solutions, R&D, and Product teams to enhance Dataiku’s functionality.
  • Lead Data Scientist engagements, coordinating agile sprints, prioritizing tasks, estimating effort, and performing backlog grooming.
  • Run demo booth/tech talk duties at company public events (e.g., Everyday AI).
  • Lead Junior Data Scientist technical interviews.
  • Contribute to 2 internal assets (internal best practice or external blog post/project on the public gallery) per year.
