Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering with a focus on Microsoft Azure, including hands-on experience with Azure security tools like Azure AD/Entra ID, Azure Policy, Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Purview, and Azure Firewall. Familiarity with third-party IAM and security tools such as Okta, OneLogin, and Splunk is required, along with a strong grasp of cloud security frameworks, risk assessment, and incident remediation techniques like HIPAA/HITRUST, FedRAMP, NIST, PCI DSS, and CJIS. The role also requires familiarity with third-party firewalls (Palo-Alto, Fortinet), working knowledge of Azure Networking, Compute, and Storage services, and familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash). A strong understanding of identity and access management in Azure environments, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate certification are mandatory. Preferred qualifications include experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates), familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines, exposure to multi-cloud environments, and desired certifications such as SC-200, SC-300, and Hashicorp Terraform Associate.
The Senior Cloud Security Engineer will lead the implementation and optimization of cloud security solutions in complex client environments, serving as a technical mentor and escalation point for other engineers. Responsibilities include collaborating with architects and stakeholders to design secure cloud architectures, designing and implementing security controls across Azure services, and collaborating with infrastructure and application teams to ensure secure deployment of Azure resources. The role involves monitoring and responding to security incidents using Log Analytics and SIEM tools, supporting identity and access management initiatives, and developing security documentation, standards, and best practices. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to automation efforts using scripting languages, participate in security assessments and audits, provide guidance on secure architecture, and stay current with emerging threats and regulatory requirements.
