The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, with a strong emphasis on engineering best practices. Extensive expertise in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and databases like MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch is required. Deep knowledge of cloud environment best practices, including security, cost optimization, operational excellence, reliability, and performance efficiency, is essential. In-depth understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security best practices for high-performance solutions is necessary. A strong grasp of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline), and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi is expected. Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are crucial. Experience in software development with a high-level language (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java) and familiarity with modern development practices are also required. Understanding of Cloud Observability, Monitoring, and Tracing tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Jaeger, or ELK is beneficial.
The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure, leading a team of engineers in maintaining and automating a cloud computing environment. Responsibilities include collaborating with development teams and infrastructure engineers to address critical issues, promoting efficiency and self-service principles in designing and building highly available, scalable, and secure cloud services. The role involves developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools, implementing and managing Kubernetes clusters, and driving the evolution of services to support cloud-native managed services. Enhancing cloud infrastructure security, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments, is a key duty. Collaborating on CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment, defining and maintaining cloud engineering best practices and standards, and optimizing applications for cloud deployment are also core responsibilities. Evaluating emerging cloud and DevOps technologies, participating in capacity planning and resource optimization, troubleshooting complex engineering issues, and creating comprehensive documentation are expected. Additionally, mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance is part of the role.
