Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science or pharmaceutical-related field
  • 8+ years of relevant sales or marketing management experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, influencing, and negotiating skills
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and utilize high-level product and therapeutic disease knowledge
  • Familiarity with industry trends, competitor resources, and practices
  • Ability to analyze highly complex data and produce concise reports while meeting deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills in coaching and developing people
  • Sharp data analysis capabilities and industry insight to formulate and execute strategies quickly
  • Excellent cross-regional management, channel management, team management, and personnel management experience
  • Strong cross-team collaboration, project design and execution, and key customer development and management abilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategy for Gilead portfolio of products
  • Achieve all geographic product revenue and expense targets
  • Liaise with Medical, Sales, and Marketing to ensure effective communication and implementation of strategies
  • Establish effective working relationships with key opinion leaders locally and nationally to influence prescribing policies
  • Ensure monitoring systems are in place and managed to evaluate sales force effectiveness
  • Identify and meet team developmental needs, create learning plans, recommend training, and provide mentoring/coaching
  • Oversee and manage team (direct reports and third-party providers) for compliance with Gilead’s Code of Ethics, U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and local laws
  • Align with market department strategies to formulate and implement regional sales planning and strategies
  • Build regional therapeutic academic platforms, establish external customer communication channels, and ensure brand academic promotion and influence
  • Drive regional Medicare policy implementation, hospital development/access, and achievement of marketing/sales targets through collaboration and resource utilization
  • Effectively manage, coach, motivate, and develop the team to build a high-performance team that is ethical, compliant, and aligned with Gilead culture
