Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum qualification)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, supply chain, or related area (preferred)
  • Experience in retail, manufacturing, sourcing, or related areas (preferred)
  • Global experience in Sourcing, Merchandising or Procurement (preferred)
  • Passion for developing successful businesses and attention to detail in sourcing, finance, and supply chain fundamentals
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels, internal and external
  • Knowledge of what motivates manufacturers, merchants, and customers, and ability to integrate those perspectives
  • Ability to identify and communicate business priorities to diverse stakeholders
  • Data savvy with ability to analyze business fundamentals, anticipate market changes, and make fact-based decisions

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sourcing process to build Walmart Sourcing, Merchant, and Product Development strategies for Domestic and Direct Import
  • Develop supplier relationships
  • Identify sourcing opportunities to ensure supplier capability
  • Guide partners and suppliers to ensure product quality, delivery, and cost goals
  • Ensure follow-up of all sourcing activities with teams and suppliers
  • Analyze data and compile reports
  • Develop complex sourcing strategies for existing products
  • Work with Product Developers to create innovative Marketside & Freshness Guaranteed products
  • Work directly with Merchants to ensure critical business metrics are met and influence future growth strategies
