Requirements

  • Commercial experience working within payments or financial services
  • A born networker with high energy, self-starter with a proven commercial and organisational strength, entrepreneurial track record and strong negotiation skills
  • A strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and the ability to lead and manage time-sensitive, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with little supervision
  • A natural communicator and team player, comfortable driving technical and commercial discussions
  • A problem solver, naturally curious and comfortable navigating ambiguity to find solutions for technical, commercial, and operational challenges
  • A cross functional project manager of commercial, operational, and technical projects
  • Have a hands-on mentality being able to set the path for your merchants, at the same time as making smart decisions on prioritisation and delegation while looking at short- and long term planning
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a client-facing, commercial role, like account management, consulting, or in the payments industry from a merchant side (bonus if in complex enterprise software, technical infrastructure or financial services)
  • Native Mandarin speaker and full professional proficiency in English
  • Solid expertise in the payments landscape
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

  • Relationship management: Build deep trusting relationships with decision makers and executives on our most strategic accounts. Establish a global network within Adyen and work collaboratively across cultures and time zones
  • Commercial acumen: Drive commercial negotiations with customers to win new business and close complex deals, while meeting strategic and financial targets for assigned accounts
  • Strategic consultation: Act as the human dimension of Adyen’s product by delivering payments expertise and guidance to customers. Use data to tell compelling stories and position yourself as a trusted partner and informed advisor
  • Leadership: Be a senior presence and source of knowledge on the team, and help others level up through training and mentorship
  • Project management: Be proactive and prioritize across multiple projects and teams to ensure thorough execution on cross-regional projects involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Feedback: Advocate and champion for your customers internally and serve as a feedback loop to influence Adyen’s product roadmap
