Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience if a degree is not held. A strong foundation in enterprise networking, operating systems, and IT infrastructure is essential, along with experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and coordinating remediation efforts. Familiarity with incident response processes, including investigation, containment, and recovery, is required, as is the ability to analyze logs, network traffic, and system telemetry to identify threats. Experience working in regulated environments or with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, or ISO is also a requirement, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Security Operations Engineer will lead enterprise vulnerability management activities, including scanning, assessment, and prioritization of vulnerabilities, and coordinating their remediation. They will track remediation progress and generate metrics for leadership and compliance reporting. The role involves investigating and analyzing security events by correlating various data sources, and supporting incident response activities such as containment, forensic data collection, root cause analysis, and lessons learned reviews. Additionally, the engineer will research emerging vulnerabilities and threats, collaborate with analysts to integrate intelligence into detection and response workflows, and develop operational playbooks, procedures, and technical documentation.
