Requirements

  • Experience providing strategic leadership on a day-to-day basis for a nonprofit organization
  • Proven expertise in overall financial, operational, and relationship management
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Board of Directors to oversee short- and long-term objectives and operations
  • Skills in building and maintaining relationships with volunteers, staff, patients, guests, community groups, corporate partners, and government entities
  • Capability to supervise the Director of Development, Director of Finance & Administration, and lead a staff team of 15-20 professionals and paraprofessionals
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fiscal integrity, financial controls, accounting, budgeting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Experience in fund development, donor cultivation, pursuing funding from foundations, corporations, and community sources, and overseeing fundraising events and donor recognition
  • Oversight experience in guest relations, support services, ensuring a homelike and emotionally supportive environment, program quality, standards, systems, procedures, and evaluations
  • Facilities management skills, including ensuring adequate capacity, relaxing environment, and creating a capital replacement schedule

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the overall financial, operational, and relationship management of SECU Family House
  • Work with the Board, Finance Committee, Director of Finance & Administration, and staff to prepare annual budgets and ensure operations within budget guidelines
  • Assure fiscal integrity, adequate control and accounting of all funds, and maintain sound financial practices
  • Maintain official records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and reporting requirements
  • Direct an effective fund development program in collaboration with development staff and Donor & Community Relations Committee
  • Actively identify, cultivate prospective donors, and pursue funding from foundations, corporations, and community activities
  • Participate in fundraising events and oversee gift acknowledgment and donor recognition processes
  • Provide oversight of operational activities, guest relations, and support services to ensure a homelike, emotionally supportive, safe environment
  • Assure program quality, organizational stability through standards, controls, systems, procedures, and regular evaluations
  • Interact with guests as appropriate
  • Oversee facilities management to ensure a relaxing environment, adequate capacity, and development of a capital replacement schedule in collaboration with relevant staff and committees
