Candidates must have 10 years of overall work experience, with at least 5 years managing large-scale ERP or SAP deployments. A deep understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project methodologies is required, along with proven experience in leading multi-phase SAP deployments in complex environments. Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA deployment frameworks, including core modules like FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and WM/EWM, is essential. Hands-on experience with formulating test strategies, planning and managing SIT/UAT, and cutover planning, execution, and hypercare management are necessary. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication skills across business and IT functions, and the ability to orchestrate global and cross-functional teams are crucial. Experience with PPM tools like Jira, MS Project, or ServiceNow, and an understanding of deployment automation tools, transport management (CTS+/CHARM), and testing tools (e.g., HP ALM, Tricentis Tosca) are required. The ability to define and track deployment KPIs, readiness criteria, and post-go-live stabilization metrics is also needed. Bonus points are awarded for PMP, Prince2, or SAFe Program Consultant certifications, SAP Activate or SAP S/4HANA certification, ITIL or DevOps certification, expertise in deployment estimation and risk modeling, familiarity with cloud-based SAP and integration with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and third-party systems, strong background in coaching global teams, and experience in multi-country or multilingual SAP deployments.
The SAP Deployment Manager will lead end-to-end deployment activities for SAP rollouts, including preparation, deployment, stabilization, and handover to operations. They will act as the Subject Matter Expert for deployment methodology, cutover coordination, and hypercare planning. Responsibilities include collaborating with program leadership and various teams to ensure seamless execution of deployment plans, defining and executing deployment playbooks, readiness checklists, and go-live criteria. The manager will monitor project milestones, interdependencies, and business readiness, manage and mitigate deployment-related risks, issues, and escalations, and lead deployment rehearsals and validate cutover plans. They will also oversee the hypercare strategy, support models, and transition to operational support teams, drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and standardizing best practices, and provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for deployment team members.
