Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) for degrees outside the US), or in Sri Lanka a GCE Advanced Level
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Practical knowledge of sales techniques gained through education and experience
  • Working knowledge of company products and services
  • Developing professional expertise to apply company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell Medtronic's products and services within an assigned geographic area and/or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Develop, build, and strengthen long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors and healthcare professionals
  • Pursue leads, assess needs, and provide product services to maximize benefits from Medtronic's products and/or services
  • Promote and establish education on the company's products and/or services
  • Conduct market research including customers' and competitors' activities
  • Implement market development plans/strategies and changes as needed
  • Communicate customer feedback on new products and/or modifications to existing products or applications to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations, and Marketing
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships, develop new customer relationships, implement sales strategies, and close sales
  • Manage multiple small to mid-size accounts, sell to groups of clients, and identify new and potential customers
  • Work independently with general supervision to achieve individual sales targets, develop new accounts, and expand existing accounts
  • Help set objectives or goals for individual or team accounts
  • Work on larger, moderately complex accounts or manage a small or medium-sized quota/territory
  • Understand market landscape, marketing, and pricing structure, and influence pricing structures
  • Work with sales, marketing, and finance to structure complex contracts
  • Make adjustments or recommend enhancements in sales processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness
  • Recommend changes in account tactics to achieve sales goals
  • Influence parties within own job function at an operational level and communicate with external customers/vendors involving negotiation and presentations to manage relationships and close sales
  • Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level sales professionals and/or support employees
