Candidates must possess a 4-year degree with 5 years of related experience or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of related experience preferred. In-depth knowledge and experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite & SaaS offerings and principles, including current industry certification(s), are required. Knowledge and/or experience of the IBM Automation product suite, AI experience/knowledge, prior pre-sales engineering experience, and certifications in Cloud technologies (IBM Maximo/Red Hat OpenShift preferred) are also necessary. Experience with OSX, Windows, and Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred), virtualization & container technologies, and scripting or programming languages is required. The ability to present effectively in front of groups and a clean social media presence are essential. Up to 50% travel is required.
The Sales Engineer will lead efforts in partner enablement and recruitment, providing technical expertise for pre-sales activities. They will assist in the IBM Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) sales cycle, including partner and customer discovery, analysis, design, demonstration, and refinement of technology solutions, with a technical emphasis on IBM Maximo Application Suite/SaaS offerings. The role involves developing general knowledge across all IBM ALM offerings, focusing on Maximo and IT areas, and potentially assisting with customer proposals. Responsibilities include establishing relationships with supplier teams, partners, and customers, leveraging knowledge of competitive solutions, executing technical sales calls, configuring and documenting solutions, and qualifying sales opportunities. The Sales Engineer will present and market the design and value of proposed technology solutions and business cases to various stakeholders.
