Requirements

Candidates must have 7+ years of programmatic advertising experience in an advertising agency, brand, or ad tech firm. A solid understanding of programmatic advertising, auction mechanics, and the broader advertising landscape is required, along with experience working at or with US Independent Agencies. Strong relationships with Political advertisers and a deep understanding of the vertical are essential, as is experience calling on Independent agencies within the US Southeast region. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines are necessary. A clear understanding of SSPs/exchanges and programmatic buying fundamentals is required, and the ability to travel up to 30% is needed. A BS/BA degree or equivalent experience is required, with an MBA being a plus. Deep familiarity with ad tech, SSPs, DSPs, the programmatic landscape, and well-versedness in programmatic audience strategy are desired. Strong executive presence and excellent problem-solving skills are also desired.

Responsibilities

The Sales Director will build relationships and drive revenue with assigned Political advertisers and independent agencies. They will work closely with agency account teams to activate private marketplaces and develop deals that help advertisers connect with target audiences and desired inventory across OpenX's premium publishers. The role involves prospecting and connecting with potential buyers, deploying discovery strategies, and driving Programmatic Direct spend. Responsibilities include providing ground support to strategic deals, managing a pipeline of opportunities in Salesforce, and providing regular reporting to management. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver OpenX's programmatic and identity-based solutions to clients is also a key responsibility.
