Who You Are

Hometap is seeking ambitious and empathetic individuals to join our sales team. In this role, you will engage with homeowners interested in Hometap investments, educating them about the product and guiding them through the application process. You will manage inbound leads, make a high volume of calls daily to connect with prospective homeowners, and serve as the primary point of contact for those pursuing a Hometap investment. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong drive for success, natural empathy, and prior experience in a closing sales role. Hometap provides consistent training, feedback, and coaching, and we are looking for team members eager to contribute to the growth of a new financial product and company.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with homeowners interested in Hometap's home equity investment, educating them on the product and understanding their circumstances with empathy.
  • Guide homeowners through the Hometap investment process, acting as a single point of contact and providing updates on application status, underwriting, and closing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (processors, underwriters, etc.) to ensure a smooth process for homeowners.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with homeowners via phone, email, and text, providing status updates, answering questions, and requesting necessary documentation.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Hometap’s Home Equity Investment (HEI) product and its unique sales approach.
  • Utilize Salesforce to document and manage sales activities and pipeline.
  • Learn and use Hometap’s proprietary Hub to keep applications current and communicate next steps to homeowners and internal teams.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape and effective market positioning strategies for Hometap.
  • Collaborate with sales team members and colleagues across departments (originations, marketing, legal) to resolve inquiries and ensure an exceptional homeowner experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales experience in a closing role; experience selling financial products is a plus.
  • Drive and commitment to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Empathy: ability to understand homeowners' perspectives and provide a memorable experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Technical aptitude to master CRM systems; Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and processes.
  • Interest in learning about Home Equity Investments and the ability to educate homeowners about the product.
  • Capacity to balance individual sales goals with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
