Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA or progress toward CPA being preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within financial services, is required. A solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, specifically ASC 606 revenue recognition, is essential. The ability to obtain FINRA Series 27 after hire is necessary, along with strong Excel/Google Sheets skills. Experience with billing, collections, and revenue management systems is a plus, as are excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills. Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and the ability to adapt to a changing business and regulatory environment are also required.
The Revenue Accountant will own the multi-entity invoicing process, preparing and issuing customer invoices in line with contract terms. They will manage accounts receivable, including monitoring collections, applying payments, and resolving billing inquiries. The role requires ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition according to ASC 606 and company policies, and reviewing/reconciling deferred revenue accounts. Responsibilities include partnering with Sales and Customer Success to review contracts, assisting in month-end close activities like journal entries and reconciliations, and supporting external audits. Additionally, the accountant will identify and implement process improvements and assist with ad hoc projects and system implementations.
