Requirements

Passionate about customer service and able to model this behavior in all aspects of job performance
Ability to work part-time schedule: Noon to Close with weekends required
Flexible to be assigned to any department (Front End, Sales Floor/Stocking, Customer Courtesy) based on customer/business needs
Proficiency in using POS systems, handheld scan guns, 10-keypad, countertop scales, and computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, proprietary software)
Ability to operate reach trucks and pallet jacks for product movement and stocking
Knowledge of FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation and product quality audits
Physical ability to perform cart-to-cart transfers, visual inspections, receipt checking, stocking shelves, and maintaining a safe environment

Responsibilities

Ensure superior customer service by developing relationships, utilizing CHEF’STORE Way training, and promoting US Foods Cultural Beliefs
Perform sales and cash functions at POS: scanning merchandise, weighing products, looking up items, ensuring barcode accuracy, and reporting discrepancies
Conduct cart-to-cart transfers at checkout with visual inspection for tampering
Act as receipt checker, verifying cart contents vs. purchases as customers exit
Perform front end opening/closing functions based on shift
Assist customers on sales floor to find products and inform them of store services; focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage
Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves neatly, rotate products (FIFO), perform quality audits, report low stock, and ensure proper labeling (blaster tagging, catch weight labels, PLU tags)
Replenish sales floor daily by down stocking freight from top stock, using reach trucks/pallet jacks
Ensure products are easily accessible, visually appealing, and available; assist with price changes
Participate in store opening/closing duties, inventory, cycle counts, special events (Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets)
Maintain facility safety, follow policies, notify management of issues, and correct if possible
