Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Physical ability to frequently stoop, stand, walk, climb, lift up to 20lbs, and use repetitive motions
  • Ability to organize, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle cash and provide change without error
  • Strong communication skills: communicate effectively with guests, management, and team members via telephone or in person in a professional, diplomatic, tactful manner; build credibility and rapport; maintain composure in negative situations
  • Ability to represent the company effectively through verbal and visual presentations and deliver guest service that enhances company reputation
  • Knowledge of and ability to proactively recognize and report safety issues, maintain a clean and safe work environment (e.g., customer safety, clear aisles, sanitary practices, proper tool/machinery placement)
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply retail selling skills
  • Passion for working in teams and helping people (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Function as a source of knowledge about retail merchandise, products, history, current stock, and inventory levels
  • Demonstrate features and benefits of merchandise/products to educate customers and promote sales
  • Handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Demonstrate selling skills: approach and acknowledge customers, identify needs, suggest products, and close sales to promote sales and positive customer experience
  • Participate in organizing and executing bi-annual inventory and perform scheduled inventory updates/cycle counts
  • Assist with all price changes and ticket merchandise prior to staging on sales floor
  • Assist and maintain sales floor and cash wrap for maximum efficiency
  • Maintain visual standards and follow plan-o-grams set by planners and merchandise manager
  • Assist with Sales and Vending Retail
  • Assist and support marketing/event team with after-hours events
  • Greet and assist guests, stock, stage, and transport merchandise to the sales floor
