Requirements

Ability to safely load waste, carry bags and containers to the vehicle for disposal
Capability to direct the Driver from the ground to assist in maneuvering the vehicle
Knowledge of operating packing mechanism, levers, and handles to activate lifting and loading
Ability to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues
Adherence to safety policies, procedures, and standards
Capacity to maintain productivity standards and clean work areas/vehicle
Courteous interaction skills with customers, dispatchers, and others

Responsibilities

Ride on the vehicle and assist the Driver in providing prompt, courteous waste removal services on a designated residential route
Operate packing mechanism and various levers/handles to activate lifting and loading
Clean waste from packer blade, truck body, hopper, and truck on each disposal trip
Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle; report safety issues
Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely route servicing
Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable materials
Clean areas around accidental waste spills, adhering to safety standards
Maintain adherence to department productivity standards
Follow all required safety policies and procedures
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Help maintain cleanliness of the vehicle, route, and work area
