Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or 3-5 years’ relevant experience preferred (Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines in Production or Chemical environment preferred)
  • Based on business need, future relocation is REQUIRED
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Work is performed in a 24x7 Ethanol production plant; involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
  • Frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions, dust, fumes, noise, heights, and potentially hazardous material
  • Must be flexible to work either day or night shift based on plant needs
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the ethanol production process, including ethanol fuel production, co-products, and grain elevator co-product load-out processes
  • Gain practical experience in all stages of production, from raw material intake to finished product shipment
  • Acquire hands-on experience in leading diverse teams, focusing on building effective communication, conflict resolution, and team development skills
  • Learn and apply principles of financial planning, including budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and labor management; understand how financial decisions impact plant operations and production goals
  • Work closely with plant leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement; develop and implement strategies to enhance operational performance, streamline workflows, and contribute to meeting or exceeding production targets
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of a business or technical support or production team
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other supervisors
  • Make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plan, receiving guidance and oversight from a manager
  • Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised
  • Complete all responsibilities in compliance with all safety protocols, policies, and procedures
