Requirements

  • Commercial experience, ideally within a relationship-building role. Relevant courses/training desired but not required
  • Experience in the payments or Tax-Free industry highly valued, including knowledge of payment processing, financial technologies (FinTech), regulatory frameworks, and global payments ecosystem dynamics
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Keen interest in building strong customer relationships and fostering customer loyalty
  • Passion for Planet’s values and culture; represent the organization to customers
  • Fluent in English and a second language (German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian), verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Identify upsell opportunities, negotiate contracts, and meet booking quotas to ensure revenue growth and profitability
  • Partner with peer teams on cross-sell activities
  • Take ownership of customer satisfaction: conduct remote or in-person business reviews, coordinate customer meetings with specialist teams, handle and resolve escalations, and provide support
  • Prepare account plans outlining customer objectives, pain points, commercial opportunities, and goal timelines
  • Coordinate customer contract renewals and negotiations to maximize retention
  • Actively upsell products/services and identify cross-sell opportunities; work with internal teams to ensure customers are live and transacting within agreed timeframes
  • Monitor customer data to track performance, identify churn/changes/discrepancies, and coordinate resolutions; monitor revenue ramp against forecasts and troubleshoot to optimize results
  • Stay updated on industry trends, compliance, product knowledge, and best practices via research and Planet’s Training & Development programs; share best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Support, Ops, Pre-sales, Solution, Implementation, Finance, Marketing, Executive Sponsors) to facilitate communication, alignment, solve issues, and meet customer demands
  • Act as customer advocate: articulate customers’ needs and pain points to internal teams to improve services and products
