Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and be a member of a US state bar in good standing. A minimum of 5 years of legal experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in healthcare regulatory law, preferably within a high-growth health tech company or a law firm advising such organizations. A strong understanding of complex healthcare regulatory environments, including corporate practice of medicine, ACA, ERISA, and state-specific regulations, is essential.
The Regulatory Counsel will review and advise on regulatory matters concerning behavioral health care services, employee welfare benefit plans, mental health parity, ERISA, and third-party administrator requirements. They will provide strategic legal advice on regulatory impacts to products and services, identify and track relevant laws and regulations, and collaborate with Corporate Compliance to implement strategies for new legislative and regulatory changes. The role involves partnering with business stakeholders to embed regulatory compliance into operations and supporting fellow legal team members on various projects.
