Requirements

  • Registered Nurse licensure
  • Competency in standard nursing techniques for pre, during, and post-procedure care
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique as scrub technologist
  • Proficiency in administering medications, IV moderate sedation, and contrast media
  • Skills in IV insertion and point-of-care laboratory testing
  • Knowledge of emergency operational procedures, including CPR
  • Compliance with FVC/FMCNA policies, regulatory requirements, federal/state/local regulations, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices
  • Competency with facility equipment (e.g., patient monitors, defibrillators, sterilizers, computers)
  • Effective communication skills with physicians, patients, and facility management

Responsibilities

  • Supports FVC/FMCNA mission, vision, core values, compliance program, and customer service philosophy
  • Drives quality standards by meeting regulatory/accrediting requirements, implementing CQI tools, quality goals, and action plans
  • Addresses adverse events/action thresholds and maintains integrity of medical/administrative records
  • Complies with data collection, auditing, environmental integrity, and safety protocols
  • Obtains medical history, performs nursing assessments, discusses procedures, answers questions, and provides patient/family education on post-procedure care
  • Monitors patient condition pre/during/post-procedure, especially for moderate sedation/contrast reactions, and acts as patient resource
  • Identifies/communicates patient issues to management and completes accurate documentation from admission to discharge
  • Confirms written orders, consents, lab work; prepares/delivers lab requisitions; reports results
  • Initiates CPR/emergency measures as needed
  • Administers medications/IV sedation per physician orders and regulations
  • Assists physician during procedures as scrub technologist
  • Transports patients, performs point-of-care lab testing/IV insertions per orders
  • Performs additional physician-designated tasks per state regulations
  • Provides regular communication with physicians, participates in CQI meetings, assists with instruments/equipment verification, and completes adverse event reports
  • Operates/inspects facility equipment, reports malfunctions/maintenance needs
