Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Formal training from an Air-conditioning Refrigeration Technical School is a plus
  • RETA and IIAR Ammonia Refrigeration training is preferred
  • 1+ year of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration equipment room experience in a food plant preferred
  • Must pass the GCAP Operator 1 testing within 90 days of employment
  • Experience in the Air Conditioning Refrigeration industry is a plus
  • Industrial maintenance experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment and basic hand and power tools preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Industrial Safety procedures is preferred
  • RETA I Certification and Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification preferred
  • Ability to read and understand Equipment and System P&ID’s
  • Must pass a HAZ-Mat physical and training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based software such as Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn and apply Tyson SAP-PM Plant Maintenance system
  • Approximately one to two weeks of travel per year for training
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance, including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, Motor Controls, and shop equipment operation desired
  • Experience with Air Conditioning Refrigeration systems operation and maintenance is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system
  • Operation and maintenance of HCFC systems
  • Operation and maintenance of hot water systems
  • Operation and maintenance of air compressors
  • Operation and maintenance of waste treatment operations
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations of all assigned systems
  • Understand and work within the rules and standards of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP)
  • Work within a total team environment and effectively deal with team members, management team, operations personnel, and contractors
  • Foundational knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and other systems under assigned responsibilities
  • Participate in training and skill development in all areas of responsibility
  • Be self-motivated
  • Complete computerized training programs
  • Use Tyson SAP software
  • Read and write as required
  • Demonstrate the proven ability to communicate information clearly and professionally across various levels of the organization
