Candidates must possess at least 6 months of industrial refrigeration experience or experience in HVAC, along with general maintenance skills in welding, electrical, and hydraulics. A member of the HAZMAT Team is required, and candidates must be able to wear required personal protection equipment, including Air Purifying Respirators, after completing a medical physical and clearance. Additionally, applicants must meet the 3X rule, having not worked for Tyson within the last three employment periods, and have an 180-day wait period from their last termination date.
The Refrigeration Maintenance role involves documenting readings for ammonia systems, performing daily equipment inspections, visually inspecting equipment for ammonia issues, developing knowledge of facility layout and equipment, maintaining and monitoring ammonia refrigeration equipment within safety standards, and performing preventative Forklift maintenance. This position requires working inside and outside the facility, potentially in extreme temperatures and wet/noisy conditions, and includes tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs. and working on hard surfaces during a 12-hour shift.
